Hey, I'm Esther Linda Nigiwan
I help fintechs launch and scale across Africa — without the risk of a full-time hire.
10+ years leading market entry, banking partnerships, regulatory navigation and P&L across Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Nigeria, Ghana, Mozambique and Sierra Leone. I become your person on the ground — for as long as you need one.
When I Help
For fintechs expanding into Africa — in four situations.
Services
Four ways to work together.
You don't need to hire an expensive full-time executive. A full-time Country Manager costs $120K–$200K a year plus 4–6 months of searching. I deliver Country Manager-level leadership 2–3 days a week — and in 90 days, build market entry, partnerships and a team that runs without me.
Extension — $7,000/month: ongoing support in the Month 3 format, for as long as your market needs Country Manager-level oversight.
Not included: candidate sourcing (led by your HR or a recruiting agency at your cost; I define who to look for and make the final call), local licensing fees, and operating capital.
For when you need to make a high-stakes market decision backed by local expertise — without hiring anyone and without a 90-day engagement.
Senior perspective without hiring an executive: decision reviews, prioritization, and testing hypotheses before you spend budget on them.
For below-the-line campaigns that need feet on the ground — merchant acquisition, agent recruitment, or last-mile customer sign-up. I recruit, train and manage a team of Direct Sales Representatives ("foot soldiers") to generate sales on your behalf. My fee is 10% of their total payout, so my incentive is tied directly to what they sell.
Background
A decade of building digital financial services that reach the people others overlook.
Esther Linda Nigiwan is a strategic fintech executive with over 10 years of experience leading market expansion, product commercialisation and revenue growth across digital financial services in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Currently Head of Africa at Pyypl, she drives multi-country expansion strategy, owns regional P&L performance and delivers measurable transaction growth across eight African countries. She has built and led a hybrid team of 70+ across multiple jurisdictions and structured high-impact partnerships with Ripple, Flutterwave and Binance.
She now takes this experience to foreign fintechs, payment companies and remittance and embedded-finance startups entering Africa — as a fractional executive, not a full-time hire.
